The Salyers Percussion PCX15 features a 1 1/8” phenolic ball that is naturally heavy, so it cuts through with a bright, clear tone. The rattan sticks have the same diameter and flexibility. The uncoiled sticks in the Performance Collection are designed to offer a wide selection of sonic possibilities to the advanced percussionist. The available head sizes are 1”, 1 1/8”, and 1 1/4”. The rattan size sets this series apart from any other series available. The tendency to use very thick rattan in uncoiled sticks results in a stiff handle that does not allow for the natural flex of the rattan to help get the best sound from the keys. We use a rattan size that feels good but flexes enough to help you get the best possible sound from your instruments.
