The SV-10 is the softest model in the series. Labeled Medium-Soft, this stick will cover the entire register, but its potential is best experienced in the mid-low range of the vibraphone. The stick is 4-5 grams heavier than the other three models in the Contemporary-Solo series. This weight, combined with the size, shape, and softness of the head, will produce a rich, excellent tone with plenty of base (without annoying overtones). The SV-10 is ideal for slower, jazz, or contemplative solo pieces, and certainly perfect as a left-hand bass stick. An added bonus: you’ll get a better sound on a marimba than with most marimba sticks out there. Wrapped with virtually indestructible synthetic blend yarn. Combinations:
Use as a set of four SV-10s, the ideal combination as a bass stick with three SV-20s, but also as a set of three SV-10s with a TOP SV-20 for clearer soprano melody lines.
