Pure xylophone sound. Highest-quality ebony wood, purchased from a traditional German string maker. Black ebony heads are the heaviest and purest woods available. Expensive and difficult to find, the heads are made from select square rods. Ebony is a hardwood with a dense structure. After experimenting with various sizes, we selected 28 mm as an ideal combination of balance, weight, and overall feel. The XEB-28s are built as professional mallets of the highest quality, but their qualitative value will only be appreciated when a pure wood sound is desired. The XEB-28 has a strong, crisp, woody, and full sound. 28 mm also contributes positively to piano playability by producing the greatest possible fundamental sound. Perfectly crafted, finely hand-sanded, and waxed. Rattan is hand-wrapped with burgundy thread. This is a premium model exclusively for xylophones, just for lovers of the pure wood sound.
