The Suzuki Method of Education is based on Shinichi Suzuki’s vision that every child is born with abilities and that people are products of their environment. According to Shinichi Suzuki, a world-renowned violinist and teacher, the greatest joy an adult can experience comes from developing a child’s potential so that they can express all that is best and harmonious in human beings. Students are taught using their native language. Each Suzuki Method book series for a particular instrument is considered a Suzuki music school, such as the Suzuki Cello School. Suzuki lessons are generally given in a private studio with additional group lessons. The student listens to recordings and works with their Suzuki cello teacher to develop their potential as a musician and as a person.
This Suzuki book is integral to Suzuki cello lessons and includes the piano accompaniment parts. This volume contains some smaller pieces that could be used as warm-up exercises, but the majority of the edition is dedicated to the complete C major Concerto, Hob. VIIb 1 (Moderato, Adagio, Allegro molto) (Haydn).
