For Piston trumpet
S: Medium backbore. Compact and brilliant tone.
M: Medium-large backbore. Compared to S backbore is more open in the initial part. Fuller sound.
L: Large backbore. Big symphonic sound of great volume and projection.
XL: Extra-large backbore. Large sound of enormous volume. Intonation-wise it helps with small trumpets (D, E-flat, E, F).
XXL: extra-extra-large backbore. Suitable for piccolo trumpet. Easier upper range.
For rotary trumpet
L: Smallest backbore available for rotary trumpet. Compact and brilliant tone.
XL: Simphonic sound of great volume.
XXL: Very big and deep sound.
For piccolo:
XXL: extra-extra-large backbore. Suitable for piccolo trumpet. Easier upper range.
Cup Size: B Cup:
Deep cup, dark and full-bodied sound.
C Cup:
Medium cup with a compact tone all over the range.
D Cup:
Medium-shallow cup. Brilliant tone with great projection. Suitable for orchestral use.
